Before you call for sauna pricing, have the ten items on our Sauna Prep Checklist answered: the route in, what the room stands on, where your panel is and how far away it is, the room you have in mind, and your target date. The call is short, and we send a detailed quote within one business day.
The checklist is what we confirm before we send a quote. Every item on it changes what gets built, who has to be on site, or what happens first. Most of it is a tape measure and a walk to the panel.
What do I need to get a sauna installation quote?
The site
Site access: driveway width, fence gates, stairs. Every crate travels the same route from the truck to the spot, and the narrowest point decides whether the crew carries, rolls, or takes a gate off its hinges. Measure the gate at its real opening and count the steps. On a Southern California lot that point is usually the side gate, and the base is often a pool deck or patio already poured; fitting a sauna into a narrow or compact lot covers what we measure there.
Foundation status: concrete pad, deck platform, paver base, or piers. Tell us what is there now. With nothing there, site preparation joins the scope and goes first. With a slab or patio in place, we check that it is level, sound, and draining away from the room, and the pad becomes a check rather than a build.
Indoor, outdoor, or covered exterior. An indoor room comes in through the house, so doorways and stairs are the route and the room it goes into is the foundation. An outdoor room stands on its own pad and takes the weather, so protection comes into it. A covered exterior sits between the two.
Roof clearance and door swing. Whatever is above the spot, an eave, a patio cover, a branch, has to clear the finished roof, and the door needs its full swing without meeting a fence, a wall, or a pool rail. Both come down to where the room sits.
The power
Where your electrical panel is, and the distance from the panel to the sauna. Together they describe the electrical run: where it starts and how far it goes. Electrical is handled by licensed electricians we coordinate as our preferred contractors. A rough distance in paces is enough.
The room
Your sauna model and heater, if chosen. If you have a room in mind, name it: a glass-fronted outdoor cube gets its own staging spot for the glass, and the heater buildout you choose is part of the quote. If you have not chosen, say so; the walk of your space usually settles it.
Sauna dimensions and weight. Both are on the room's buildout page where the maker publishes them. We read them against your route and your pad: the room has to pass the narrowest point, and what it stands on is sized to its weight.
Whether the sauna is already on site or on the way. If the room is in your garage or on a truck, say so. We build rooms members bought elsewhere too, and the quote then covers the site, the power, assembly, and protection rather than the sourcing.
The calendar
Timeline expectations and target completion. Tell us when you want to be sitting in it. The date sets what has to be finished when: the pad built and checked, the electrician scheduled, the room delivered, the crew booked. Most assemblies take four to eight hours on site; the calendar is mostly the work before that day.
What happens on the call, and after it?
A specialist takes the call. We go down the checklist with you, then arrange to walk your space: placement, access, drainage, grade, and how the household will use the room. You leave knowing what fits and what does not.
The quote is built from five things: the sauna and heater buildout, site preparation and foundation, the electrical run, assembly, and protection if you want it. None of them is a published figure, because each depends on your site; what determines the cost of a home sauna explains why the site is the largest variable. With the checklist answered, we'll send a detailed quote within one business day. Member pricing covers the whole scope of the project, and availability is confirmed with you on the same call.
Four ways to reach us
- Call or text 720.780.4400. Texts start with Jarvis, our trained AI. Ask for a person any time.
- Request member pricing. A first name and an email address are enough to start; your phone, where the sauna is going, what you are considering, and anything about the site are optional. We send a detailed quote within one business day, with the Sauna Prep Checklist.
- Schedule a 15-minute call with David, for builds that need more than a form can capture.
- Email support@saunafriend.com with questions on buildouts, electrical coordination, or timing.
All four are on the contact page.
What if I have not chosen a sauna yet?
The build estimator walks eight short steps: format, how many people, the buildout, the heater buildout, the controller, the services, your ZIP, and contact. No pricing appears at any step. "Not sure yet" on the first step skips straight to the ZIP, and a specialist calls you.
The catalogue is sent by email: every buildout, wood, and heater we build with, and what each one suits. No pricing inside, because pricing depends on your site.
Where membership comes in
Membership is simple to enter and free to leave, and it does not reduce any of your protections. It is entered as part of the pricing conversation, and your specialist explains it first. We do not publish pricing: member pricing is quoted by a specialist, covers the whole scope of work, and is never generated by a form. More on the membership page.
How to start
Measure the gate, look at what the room will stand on, find your panel, and pick a date. Then call 720.780.4400, or have us walk your space. A specialist walks the site with you, the room and the heat are settled against it, and member pricing follows from that conversation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a sauna installation quote?
Call 720.780.4400 or request member pricing, and a specialist takes it from there. We confirm the Sauna Prep Checklist with you, send a detailed quote within one business day, and walk your space before anything is ordered. The quote covers the whole scope of the build, and no figure is generated by a form.
What should I expect from a sauna consultation?
A sauna consultation is a working conversation rather than a presentation. Your specialist walks the space with you, looks at placement, access, drainage, and grade, and asks how the household will use the room. You leave knowing what fits and what does not, and availability is confirmed in that conversation rather than promised in advance.
What should I know before buying a sauna?
Before buying a sauna, settle the site: where it will stand, what it will stand on, how a crate gets there, where your electrical panel is, and whether the room goes indoors, outdoors, or under cover. Then settle how the household will use it and when you want it done. Those answers decide the scope before any room is chosen.
